Vintage Music Magazine to be Available Online – Fans on a High

Fans of vintage music will be familiar with the name “Cash Box”. Music Box was a music magazine that was published between the years 1942 to 1996. The Swem Library a part of the college of William & Mary, in Virginia has been awarded a grant to make the entire collection of the Cash Box magazine to be available online. The staff of the Swem Library was excited with this rare opportunity to make a rare magazine available to the public. Library Dean Carrie Cooper stated that they deem it a great chance to make the magazine available online so as to provide millions of fans worldwide with a glimpse in to the workings of the Music industry.

Cash Box music magazine contained excerpts of interviews of legendary musicians, stories about bands and their songs, rare photographs of bands and singers, charts of hit songs, lyrics, gossip, insight into the working of the music industry and other such stories. Bringing this magazine makes it available to a new generation of fans who are smitten by the workings of the music industry. Making this vintage magazine available online provides scope for assignments for music students to work on. Now, students and professors from universities all over the world can make use of these archives to look for materials to work on.
